GreenSteps Ltd. was established in 2006 to simplify the 'green' marketplace for customers looking to purchase products that were environmentally sound. Ranging from energy saving light bulbs to white goods that have rigorously assessed for their energy efficiency. The site was designed to be very simple to use as GreenSteps customers had been identified to be outside the demographics of usual Internet savvy shoppers.
As a start up company IBT Services provided advice and sources to help GreenSteps to understand the process of trading over the Internet. This advice covered legality issues with distant selling and advice on the latest Internet topics such as Search engine optimisation and usability.
Using the Content Management and e-Commerce module integrated with Unity-aero, GreenSteps developed a solution that allowed them to ship from multiple suppliers, avoiding the need for large areas to hold bulky stock.
